How the biological clock works

How does the biological clock work?

Understanding the mechanism through which our body works can help us have better health. The alternation of light and dark cycles defines the basic biological rhythm of our body. The morning, the state of being awake, when we are active, changes to the evening, the state of sleep, when our body gradually sinks into the night.

Biorhythm is the biological clock of our body with a 24-hour cycle.

The hormone that sends the signal to our body to go to sleep is called melatonin and it is produced in the evening hours. The biological clock also controls hormone secretion, regulates body temperature and blood pressure, affects our mood, and suppresses appetite in various ways. All this has a great impact on the functioning of internal organs.

Biorhythm and its influence on internal organs

Each organ in our body has a dedicated time of about 2 hours per day during which it works most efficiently. If you have a disease related to an individual organ, the corresponding symptoms are most noticeable during the peak of that organ. This explains why most heart attacks occur before noon, as the heart is most active at that time. Similarly, people with gallbladder problems experience symptoms around midnight, when this organ is at its peak.

You've probably noticed that even a common cold or flu manifests itself differently at different times of the day. This difference can be explained by the biological clock mechanism.

Let's take a closer look at the peak hours of individual organs so as not to exhaust them when they should be resting. Our body will thank you for it.

21.00-23.00 hours - the time of energy accumulation, preparation for sleep

The stomach stops secreting gastric juice, so everything you eat now will be digested in the morning.

The time from 21:00 can be called "student hour" because we are more perceptive and our memory can store acquired knowledge longer. From 22:00, the deep sleep phase begins. It is very important that children go to sleep at this time, because their bodies produce most of the growth hormones. Cell regeneration begins.

11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. is the time of gallbladder activity

After about an hour of sleep, you begin to enter the first stage of dreaming. However, if you ate a lot for dinner, your gallbladder will either prevent you from falling asleep, or you may wake up with a severe stomach ache. Around midnight, our body stops producing pain-blocking hormones. If you have any problems or pains, you will feel it more intensely. Gallbladder problems usually make you feel worse, possibly even convulsing.

At this time, mental abilities weaken, it becomes more difficult to concentrate, so there will not be much benefit from science at such hours. Working in night shifts is extremely dangerous for people with problems with the gallbladder and liver, because both of these organs lose the time that nature has given them to relax and, as a result, experience even greater loads.

1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. is the time of liver activity

At this time, the liver's function is at its peak - it removes fats from the bloodstream and releases toxic substances. Other functions of our body are inhibited, the oxygen supply to the brain is at its lowest level.

If you have gallbladder problems, you may experience related symptoms because the liver and gallbladder are "like a couple."

You should not drink alcohol or coffee, smoke or eat fatty foods at this time. The liver recovers and cleanses the body only during night sleep.

At such a time, a person's work capacity is minimal, vision weakens, it becomes more difficult to distinguish colors. Therefore, you should not get behind the wheel of a car between 2 and 4 in the morning.

At 2 o'clock, our body becomes especially sensitive to cold. If you are still awake at this time, a depressing mood sets in, and at 3 o'clock the spiritual state reaches its lowest point. People prone to depression often wake up at this time in a bad mood.

From 1 to 5 hours, nicotine and alcohol are particularly harmful to the body.

3.00-5.00 is the time of lung activity

When the lungs are in the active phase, smokers or asthmatic patients tend to wake up. Constant rhinitis, bronchitis or inflammation of the respiratory system currently makes breathing difficult. At that time we tend to feel fear and anxiety, so this part of the day is very dangerous for people suffering from depression.

Around 4 o'clock in the morning, melatonin peaks, blood pressure drops, and heart rate slows down.

5.00-7.00 am is the time of activity of the large intestine

Those who are used to waking up at this time usually enter the active rhythm of the day much more smoothly. In the morning you should relax and avoid stress and tension. In particular, patients with heart disease should slowly ease into the routine, as they may be more prone to heart problems in the morning hours.

Drink enough fluids, preferably tea, and avoid cold drinks. It is recommended to defecate at this time of the day.

Drinking a glass of room-temperature water or eating a few dried fruits is helpful to keep the colon functioning smoothly.
Healthy people can benefit greatly from morning exercise.

As the 7th hour approaches, the heart rate begins to rise and the secretion of hormones, including testosterone, increases. Blood levels of this male hormone are 40% higher than at midnight, which explains why men prefer morning sex.

7.00-9.00 is the time of stomach activity

It is good to start the morning with breakfast, which will suit all possible types of porridge, as well as dishes from fruits and vegetables. But fatty, high-calorie food should be avoided. Because in the morning, the metabolic processes in the tissues are slowed down - for the same reason, the face can be puffy and swollen (this unpleasant symptom can be eliminated with a light massage).
Physical exertion should be avoided during such hours, as the probability of a heart attack is 70 percent higher at this time of the day.
A morning cigarette narrows blood vessels more than any other time of the day.

The body should be warm in the morning, so you should avoid a cold shower. During these two hours, the digestive organs are at their peak and this is the best time for breakfast. Give your body all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs. Make the most of it.

9:00-11:00 a.m. is the time of spleen and pancreas activity

The body is efficiently digesting sugar at this time, so feel free to enjoy lots of fruit or honey. However, you should avoid alcohol. Before noon, we are most active, our mental activity accelerates and our psyche reaches its maximum level. Metabolism and protective functions of the skin are activated, which is why cosmetic procedures aimed at moisturizing the skin are useful. However, let's avoid excessive physical activity if possible.

Around 10 o'clock is the best time to study, and around 11 o'clock our mental activity is at its peak. Your whole body and mind are in top shape, making this window of time the best time to make important decisions.

Blood pressure rises before noon, drops slightly in the afternoon, and begins to rise again towards the evening. This is why we are most active in the morning.

The active production of new blood cells in the spleen at this time of the day helps the body fight infections.

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. is the time for heart activity

We should not strain our bodies too much by eating heavy meals at a time when our heart is most active. This is a non-peak time of the day, so you should be careful for possible injuries or accidents. A short walk or nap can help us.

Especially on hot summer days, heart disease patients can feel significantly worse. Give your body at least some rest.

At this time of the day, try not to tire your body with physical exertion.
The work of the brain is very productive - it is the best time for making responsible decisions, intellectual activity, business negotiations.

13.00-15.00 hours is the time of small intestine activity

Heart activity and metabolic processes slow down, the body's protective functions weaken. Only the small intestine is actively working, experiencing the main load in the process of food digestion. This is the best time for lunch, because protein food is digested and absorbed very successfully.

A 15-20 minute rest or nap will help overcome afternoon fatigue and laziness. But it should not last more than half an hour, otherwise the effect will be the opposite.

During these hours, the static charge on the human body is extremely low, so it is easy to perform any manipulations with the hair - therefore, it is an ideal time to visit the hairdresser or for women to try to create a complicated hairstyle themselves.

Sensory organs, feeling of compassion, understanding are activated. Sight and hearing are sharpened.

15.00-17.00 - the time of bladder activity

at 3 p.m. the organs of the elimination system and the detoxification processes are very strong. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids, especially herbal tea. The time of this afternoon is suitable for sports activities. We are better able to solve complex tasks or create action plans. Long-term memory works well: it is easy to remember long-forgotten events or remember the necessary information.

The digestive system is ready to process food. Around 4 p.m. is a good time to replenish the body vitamins and minerals - at this time our immune system is waking up.

It won't hurt to eat something sweet at 4:00 p.m. - it is at this time of the day that the pancreas produces the most insulin, which reduces the amount of sugar in the body.

Hair and nails grow best.

Physical loads and exercise are extremely effective - athletes can achieve excellent results at this time of day.

17-19 hours is the time of kidney activity

5 pm is the best time for training or other physical activity. The kidneys work actively, so try to avoid everything that harms them - fat, sugar, salt, alcohol, cold and stress.

On the contrary, around 18:00 the body temperature decreases, the body calms down and physical activity decreases. Perfect time for dinner. This is the time for the last meal of the day, but avoid sugary foods and coffee.

The skin responds well to cosmetic procedures: this is the time for masks, facial cleansing, skin smoothing, because everything you apply to the skin during these hours will bring benefits.

At 18 hours, the liver tolerates alcohol tolerably.

19-21 hours is the time of blood circulation activity

At this time we are very sensitive and our body is returning to its previous form, your reflexes are working very well. Nevertheless, we can experience mental fatigue and nervousness. Blood pressure rises and headaches occur quite often. Our skin is generally less permeable, so it is best to apply medicated ointments to the painful parts.

After 19:00 it is better to drink less - especially before going to bed. Extremely harmful cocoa and milk: these drinks do more harm than good because the kidneys simply cannot process them anymore.

After 20 hours, the body practically stops producing digestive enzymes, so heavy food is not digested - it will lie in the stomach all night. For this reason, it would be beneficial to eat some fruit.

At this time of the day, many children are best at preparing lessons - they even develop an interest in science. This is completely normal and is related to increased blood circulation.

At these hours, we think about everything but sleep. Optimal time for massage. It's better not to weigh yourself at 8 p.m. if you don't want to fight unnecessarily, because that's when the scale will show the maximum weight. From this time until morning, you should not smoke a single cigarette - it is extremely difficult for the body to break down nicotine poison at night.

It's important

Our biological clock has been established throughout the history of human existence. The human body has set its own rhythm, when it is best to turn on the maximum functions of the organ. Our body provides a lot of useful information. It is important to listen and feel the signals being sent. If you feel bad and constantly at a certain time, you can assess which organ is sending warning signals.1
